In Memory of Rich Wiens

In January of this year, we lost a legend and a friend. Rich Wiens was one of our earliest team riders for both Grubwear & Jackson Snowboards. He hailed from Winnipeg and was the most dedicated shop skater for SK8 Skates that they ever had. 

We connected in the early days (1992?) and I hooked up Rich with boards and clothing over the years. The level of stoke was outrageous... he was just as big a fan of us as we were of him. Always open to photo shoots and sending pics to use for ads, giving feedback and giving input into product development. 

Rich represented across Canada and never looked back - he was a prolific skater and surfer to boot... it's honestly hard to decide what he was best at, but he excelled, to be sure. I think he was most comfortable in the bowls and on ramps, blowing people away with his 360 kickflip indys on vert. Mind bending and smooth. 

With the permission and partnership of his loving family; brothers Robert, Bryan and David along with his wife Christy and their boys Declan & Reece, we are putting together a RAW tribute board for December 2026 release. We're finalizing the graphics and will try to share in mid-October so please check back! Rich would have been so amped to get his own PRO-MODEL... and now he has it. There will be one graphic in several sizes.
